About Us

Background

This is the story of Cristel Graphics Limited...

During 1983 and in the middle of a world-wide recession, Simplex Time Recorder Co., a global US organisation, closed down their UK manufacturing subsidiary, Simplex Time Recorder Co. (UK) Limited. Two executives, John Wormald, the Managing Director, and Terry Broadbent, the Personnel Manager, between them purchased the UK electronics, manufacturing and printing businesses. Thus, Cristel Graphics was formed; supplying Time and Attendance solutions, time cards / clock cards, and a bespoke printing service to organisations across the whole of the UK and Ireland. Cristel Graphics became a limited company on 1 January 1999. By the new millennium the company had expanded its customer base from two to over 120 dealers and 3,000 end users.

On 31 January 2004, John Wormald retired as Managing Director by selling his entire interest in the business to his co-Director, Terry Broadbent and Terry's son, Steven. Therefore, on 1 February 2004 Cristel Graphics Ltd. began a new chapter as a truly "family business".
