What a Print Production Line Makes Visible
Equipment is easier to compare when the handoffs around it are visible.

01
Follow the handoffs
A production line is not a single machine. Files are checked, interpreted, imaged, printed, dried or set, cut, folded, bound or packed, then inspected. A decision upstream can become a failure downstream.
The equipment question is therefore “what does this stage receive and what must it deliver?”
02
Measure the exception
Ask how a line handles version changes, a substrate change, a reprint and a rejected sheet. Those exceptions often reveal more than the headline speed of a press.
